Conway, SC — Conway Police have announced an arrest in connection with the September 1 shooting that left five adults injured in the area of Smith Jones Street and Parmley Drive.
Officers responded at approximately 10:10 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire. When police arrived, they located multiple injured individuals and learned an adult birthday gathering had been taking place nearby at the time of the incident.
According to investigators, five adults sustained injuries. One person suffered a minor graze wound and did not require transport. Another was taken from the scene by ambulance. Three additional individuals went to local hospitals in private vehicles. Police say one of those individuals declined treatment for a minor injury, while two others received medical care. None of the injuries were reported as life‑threatening.
Early information gathered by investigators indicated the incident involved individuals who were known to one another. Detectives continued working to determine the circumstances and connections between those involved.
On September 8, Conway Police announced that Tyquan Dashoun Frinks had been taken into custody in connection with the shooting. Frinks is charged with four counts of Assault/Attempted Murder. This investigation remains ongoing.
