Interim director named as city planning and building officials depart
NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC — Leadership changes have occurred within the City of North Myrtle Beach’s Planning and Development Department, with Suzanne Pritchard now serving as Interim Director of Planning and Development.
Information reviewed by Coastal Carolina News indicates that former Planning and Development Director James Wood and Chief Building Official Bradley Hardee are no longer employed by the city. The city has not publicly released details regarding the circumstances surrounding either departure.
Pritchard, who previously served in a senior role within the department, has assumed interim leadership responsibilities while the city manages the transition.
The Planning and Development Department oversees a range of functions affecting growth and development, including planning, zoning, permitting, development review, and building-related operations.
As a result, changes in departmental leadership can have implications for ongoing development projects, permit processing, and long-range planning initiatives within the city.
With Pritchard now serving as interim director, the department remains responsible for overseeing planning, zoning, permitting, and development-related functions throughout the city. Additional details regarding the staffing changes have not been publicly released.
