Blanchie Ward Marlowe, 94, of the Old Dock Community in Whiteville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Blanchie was born on September 20, 1932, daughter of the late Ellis S. Ward and Nellie Gore Ward. She was the widow of Barsley A. Marlowe and was also preceded in death by her siblings, J.D. Ward, Leamon Ward, Sterling Ward, Thurman Ward, Ruby Hardee, Grace Blackman, and Mattie Evans.
Per Blanchie’s request, only a graveside service will be held; It will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 30, 2026 at the Old Dock Church Cemetery.
The family will speak to friends following the graveside service at the cemetery .
Blanchie is survived by her three daughters, Sharon M. Council and husband, Michael, Norita M. Faulk and husband, Kenneth, and Rebecca M. Ray and husband, Glen; grandchildren, Brian Council (Georganna), AnneMarie Faulk (Randle), Nathan Faulk, Adam Faulk (Rebekah) and Destinie Ward (Stephen); great-grandchildren, Vanessa (Will), Taylor, Addison, Liam, Conner (Katie), Isaac, and Drake; sister, Faye Gore.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lower Cape Fear Angel House.
