Oak Island, NC — Public Works will conduct mosquito‑fogging operations over two evenings this week, beginning tonight and continuing Wednesday. Treatments are planned to start at approximately 6:00 p.m. each evening.
Tonight’s schedule, Tuesday, August 18, includes Zones 1 and 2 in neighborhoods west of East 40th Street. Wednesday’s schedule, Aug. 19, includes Zones 3 and 4 in areas east of East 41st Street and on the mainland. Public Works notes that weather conditions may affect timing.
Residents are asked to allow the fogging vehicle room to move through neighborhoods. The fog dissipates quickly, and routine prevention such as reducing standing water remains recommended.
