The world was supposed to forget all about Peter Parker, but it definitely doesn’t seem that way. In fact, the teenager from Queens has been more celebrated than ever thanks to the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The latest Marvel Cinematic Universe film was released to overwhelming levels of critical acclaim, with some already considering it one of the best Spider-Man movies ever made. The movie has been breaking box-office records left and right.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day was off to an incredible start, grossing $932 million during its first three days at the worldwide box office and landing the biggest domestic opening ever at $360 million. But he didn’t stop there, as the film quickly surpassed the $1 billion mark just six days after hitting theaters. Now, almost a month after its international release, Peter Parker keeps crawling to new heights.

On Aug. 24, 2026, Spider-Man: Brand New Day reached $858.4 million at the domestic box office, officially surpassing Avengers: Endgame to become the highest-grossing MCU film domestically. The last time earth’s biggest heroes assembled on the big screen to bring half the universe back to life, they ended up grossing $858.3 million across US theaters.  It’s important to remember that Marvel will re-release Endgame this September, which means it will have an even bigger box office later this year. With that being said, Brand New Day’s theatrical run is far from over.

To put things into perspective, here are the top eight biggest films at the domestic box office, and where Spider-Man: Brand New Day ranks among them:
1 – Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens – $936.6 million
2 – Spider-Man: Brand New Day – $858.4 million
3 – Avengers: Endgame – $858.3 million
4 – Spider-Man: No Way Home – $814.8 million
5 – Avatar – $785.2 million
6 – Top Gun: Maverick – $721.9 million
7 – Black Panther – $700.4 million
8 – Avatar: The Way of Water – $688.4 million

Spider-Man: Brand New Day has already shattered expectations but it won’t stop there. Projections estimate the latest film will end its theatrical run somewhere in the $950 million to $1 billion range at the domestic box office, which means it is bound to take the crown away from Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens before this is all over.

Having already grossed $2.22 billion at the worldwide box office by August 24, becoming the sixth-biggest movie, behind Titanic, Ne Zha 2, Avatar: The Way of Water, Avengers: Endgame, and Avatar. While that alone is an impressive feat, the friendly neighborhood hero is expected to keep breaking records. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is projected to gross $2.5 to $2.7 billion by the end of its run, becoming the third highest-grossing movie ever made.

With a reported budget of $225 million, and most modern superhero releases tend to invest the same amount of their budget in marketing costs. That means the film needed to gross somewhere between $450 million and $500 million at the global box office to break even, and it has already made more than four times that amount.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is now playing in theaters.
