AYNOR, SC — The Aynor Library will close later this month as Horry County moves forward with a new phase of its long‑term Library Renovation Project, bringing updated features and modern accessibility improvements to the community branch.

County officials say the building will undergo several cosmetic upgrades, including new carpet, fresh paint, and updated shelving designed to meet current ADA standards. The goal is to create a more functional, welcoming space for patrons while improving accessibility throughout the facility.

The library, located at500 9th Avenue, will close to the public on September 14 and is scheduled to reopen on September 28, giving crews a two‑week window to complete the renovation work.

This project is part of the county’s ongoing effort to modernize all Horry County Memorial Library locations. The renovation initiative began in 2019 with improvements at the Loris Library, and future upgrades will continue based on building age, facility needs and community demand.
