SLEEPING‑ON‑BEACH ORDINANCE ARREST REPORTED ON 9TH AVENUE NORTH

MYRTLE BEACH, SC — Myrtle Beach police reported an early‑morning ordinance violation Saturday after officers encountered a man sleeping in a public beach‑access area along 9th Avenue North.

According to the incident entry, officers made contact with 26 year old Steven Joseph Allison on September 5 in the 100 block of 9th Avenue North. Allison was arrested on a misdemeanor charge under Section 5‑19, which prohibits sleeping on the public beach or in public beach‑access areas after 9:00 p.m., and officers routinely enforce the rule during overnight and early‑morning patrols.

All individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Charges and case statuses may change as investigations and court proceedings continue.
