MYRTLE BEACH, SC — A 28‑year‑old man was taken into custody Saturday morning after police say he was found inhabiting or camping on property not zoned for that use along South Kings Highway.
Myrtle Beach officers arrested Hunter Andrew Gray, described as a white male, age 28, in the 2300 block of S. Kings Highway at 7:41 a.m. on September 5, 2026. The charge stems from a city ordinance that prohibits camping, inhabiting, or establishing temporary shelter on any property not specifically zoned or permitted for camping. Myrtle Beach’s ordinance is designed to prevent overnight habitation in areas not equipped for sanitation, safety, or emergency access.
