Horry County Police Department Reports Narcotics Arrest After Longs‑Area Investigation

Longs, SC — Horry County Police Department Narcotics Detectives, working alongside the Street Crimes Unit, arrested a Longs man on September 2, 2026, following an investigation into illegal drug trafficking in the area.

Detectives conducted a traffic stop on 35‑year‑old Ryshon Grate during the operation. Investigators say Grate was found in possession of trafficking amounts of cocaine and crack cocaine. Officers later executed a search warrant at his residence, where they reported locating and seizing:

• Approximately 478 grams of cocaine • Approximately 352.9 grams of methamphetamine • Approximately 18.6 grams of crack cocaine • More than $34,000 in U.S. currency • One illegally possessed handgun

Grate was arrested and charged with multiple drug‑trafficking and firearm‑related offenses, including:

Trafficking in meth or cocaine base, 200 grams or more but less than 400 grams – Trafficking in meth or cocaine base, 10 grams or more but less than 28 grams, third or subsequent offense – Trafficking in cocaine, 400 grams or more – Possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person convicted of certain crimes – Possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

All individuals named in this report are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Charges and case statuses may change as investigations and court proceedings continue.
