Sunset Harbor, NC — Peyton, the young lady injured in Monday evening’s ATV collision on Sunset Harbor Road, is in surgery at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Family members say she was struck by a passenger vehicle estimated at 50 mph while on her four‑wheeler. She sustained serious injuries and faces a long recovery. Medical staff report blood in her abdomen, though it is not actively bleeding.
Witnesses described both the ATV and the vehicle in the ditch with heavy damage as Sunset Harbor Fire Department personnel blocked the roadway and two ambulances responded.
Family, neighbors, and Sunset Harbor churches are asking for continued prayer for young Ms. Peyton and for the driver of the vehicle.
