Cerro Gordo Man Arrested Under $1 Million Bond for CJIN Violation

CERRO GORDO, NC — A Cerro Gordo resident is behind bars under a $1 million secured bond following his arrest by Columbus County deputies on Monday afternoon.

Jesse Monroe Godwin, 50, of 167 Page Mill Road, was taken into custody by Deputy Nathan Gilbert around 3:10 p.m. on Sept. 28 at his residence. Godwin was charged with a violation of the Criminal Justice Information Network (CJIN).

Following his arrest, Godwin was processed into the Columbus County Detention Center at 5:40 p.m. Due to the severity of the offense, a magistrate set his bond at $1,000,000 secured.

All individuals named in this report are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Charges and case statuses may change as investigations and court proceedings continue.
