Winnie‑the‑Pooh is celebrating 100 years in 2026, marking a century since A.A. Milne’s Winnie‑the‑Pooh was published on October 14, 1926. The milestone is being recognized worldwide with new books, exhibitions, and brand collaborations.

Disney, which began adapting Pooh in the 1960s, launched a yearlong centennial campaign featuring archival showcases, themed merchandise, and digital storytelling initiatives. In London, the company hosted “Winnie the Pooh: The Lost Balloon,” a free walk‑through experience held April 10–12 at Westfield White City, inviting families into a re‑created Hundred Acre Wood.

Retailers including Primark, TK Maxx, Funko, Old Navy, Gap, Carter’s, and Vera Bradley released anniversary collections, with additional products rolling out through the fall. LEGO, beauty brands, and plush makers are also participating.

Libraries and literary institutions are marking the occasion as well.

The New York Public Library is distributing 3,000 free copies of Winnie‑the‑Pooh and hosting a special exhibition featuring the original stuffed animals that inspired Milne’s characters. In Sussex, Ashdown Forest – known to readers as the Hundred Acre Wood is offering guided walks and Poohsticks Bridge events throughout the summer.

The centennial highlights Pooh’s lasting cultural impact, from Milne’s early stories to decades of animation, merchandise, and global readership. Celebrations continue through October.
