COLUMBUS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE INCIDENT REPORT: SEPT. 29 – OCT. 1, 2026

The following incident reports were logged by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office between September 29, 2026, and October 1, 2026. All details are based on initial law enforcement media logs, and suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Daily Incident Listings

September 29, 2026

  • Swindle / False Pretenses (Williams Rd, Chadbourn) – Deputy Allison S. Pierce responded to a report of false pretenses and swindling. Tameka Annetta Robinson, 42, reported a loss of $800 in cash. Suspect information was not available.

  • Possession of Weapon by Prisoner (Prison Camp Rd, Whiteville) – Sergeant Drew Zehnder investigated an incident at the Columbus County Detention Center where a 50-year-old male prisoner was found in possession of a homemade weapon (a metal rod wrapped in white fabric).

  • Warrant Service (Lee Ave, Whiteville) – Corporal Aaron Dehne conducted a warrant service at NC Adult Corrections and Probation involving a 36-year-old male suspect, listing Walmart Stores as the victim.

  • Obtain Property by False Pretense / Stolen Property (Tar Landing, Evergreen) – Corporal Aaron Dehne responded to the Lumber River Campground regarding property obtained by false pretenses and possession of stolen property. Victims Yadrian Hernandez and Titan Dwayne Hammonds reported the theft/loss of a 5×10 trailer valued at $1,000 and $300 in cash. A 35-year-old male suspect was listed in connection with the case.

  • Warrant Service / Drug Activity (Washington St, Whiteville) – Sergeant Drew Zehnder executed a warrant service on a 40-year-old male suspect, recovering a bag containing marijuana wrapped in paper.

  • Warrant Service (Cox Town Rd / Wright Rd, Tabor City) – F/Sgt. Taylor Hammonds executed multiple warrant services involving a 34-year-old male suspect.

  • Drug Offenses & Warrant Service (Cox Town Rd, Tabor City) – Deputy Matthew Ivey arrested/charged a 37-year-old female suspect following a traffic/warrant stop. Seized items included 1.46 grams of fentanyl, 0.28 grams of crack cocaine, and glass smoking pipes. Charges include Felony Possession of Schedule I CS, Felony Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, DWLR Not Impaired Revocation, and Warrant Service. A 48-year-old male was also listed as a suspect at the scene.

  • Warrant Service (Swamp Fox Hwy E, Tabor City) – Deputy Da’Norie Mack completed a warrant service involving a 23-year-old male suspect.

September 30, 2026

  • Larceny of ATV (Golf Course Rd, Whiteville) – Corporal Stone A. Lee responded to a report of a stolen red and white Yamaha Raptor 700R ATV valued at $10,000. Victims listed were Gilbert McFadden, 67, and Gilbert McMillon, 44.

  • Fraud / False Pretenses (Chauncey Town Rd, Lake Waccamaw) – Deputy Zachary Morris investigated a fraud report where Angelyn Lynette Clark, 58, reported a financial loss of $365.

  • Possession of Dangerous Weapon in Prison (Prison Camp Rd, Whiteville) – Travis E. Tyson logged an incident involving a 27-year-old male inmate in possession of a homemade knife/cutting instrument.

  • Missing Person (Jordan Rd, Whiteville) – F/Sgt. Jose Garcia filed a missing person report for William Barry Freedman, 62.

  • Assault on Government Official (Old Lumberton Rd, Whiteville) – Corporal Stone A. Lee reported an incident involving a 49-year-old female suspect charged with Assault on a Government Official, Resisting a Public Officer, and Communicating Threats.

  • Traffic Offense (Church St, Cerro Gordo) – Officer Timothy B. Stewart cited/charged a 30-year-old male suspect driving a Ford vehicle for operating without insurance.

  • Call for Service (Shade Fisher Rd, Chadbourn) – Deputy Chandler Huggins responded to a general call for service involving Natalie Nicole Dove, 42, and a 44-year-old male suspect.

October 1, 2026

  • Warrant Service & Recovered Property (Fairfield Dr E, Whiteville) – Deputy Chandler Huggins conducted a warrant service involving a 33-year-old male suspect. A black backpack containing miscellaneous property valued at $200 was listed in the report.

  • Failure to Appear Warrant Service (Washington St, Whiteville) – F/Sgt. Steven Moore executed warrant services for Failure to Appear on a 45-year-old male suspect at the Law Enforcement Center.

  • Probation Violation (James B White Hwy N, Whiteville) – Deputy Zachary Morris logged a probation violation incident involving a 27-year-old male suspect.
