WHITEVILLE, NC — Southeastern Community College (SCC) has announced that Hannah Isenhour, who has led the college’s marketing and communications efforts for nearly three years, has transitioned into a full-time faculty role as a Business Administration instructor.
Since joining SCC’s Marketing and Communications Department in November 2023, Isenhour served as marketing and communications coordinator. In that role, she spearheaded promotional strategies, managed social media platforms, created digital and print collateral, and supported student recruitment and enrollment initiatives. She also founded the SCC Content Creator Program, providing hands-on marketing experience to student interns and creators.
A native of Holden Beach in neighboring Brunswick County, Isenhour earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing and a minor in international management from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in May 2023. She later earned a Master of Business Administration and a Graduate Certificate in Marketing from East Carolina University in December 2024. Prior to her work at SCC, she served as social and digital marketing manager for Vivid Digital Media.
Isenhour began teaching as an adjunct business instructor at SCC in September 2024 while continuing her marketing duties, and subsequently expanded her adjunct teaching experience to Brunswick Community College and Horry-Georgetown Technical College.
“I quickly fell in love with working directly with students, and those experiences strengthened my desire to pursue teaching full time,” Isenhour said. “When I first came to SCC in 2023, it felt like an extension of the home I had always known. Growing up in Brunswick County, I saw a lot of similarities between the communities, and I knew I wanted to make a difference in rural North Carolina.”
In her new faculty role, Isenhour oversees SCC’s Business Administration program, teaching coursework in entrepreneurship, marketing, management, and introductory business concepts. She aims to connect students with practical skills, real-world workplace scenarios, and regional resources, including SCC’s Small Business Center, where she serves on the advisory board.
“My goal is for students to leave the program with more than just technical knowledge,” Isenhour noted. “I want them to build the communication, teamwork, critical thinking and problem-solving skills they’ll need to be successful in whatever direction they choose to take their careers.”
Isenhour will temporarily assist with marketing operations while the college transitions her former responsibilities.
