He was a member of the Society of Shaggers, both in Raleigh and North Myrtle Beach. For many years he enjoyed coaching his children in soccer and playing himself.

A true lover of the beach, Kerry found solace in the sand and surf. He was an expert shark’s tooth hunter and took joy in teaching others this unique skill. Because of his love for beach music, he chose My Lady Soul as their forever song.

Kerry’s tenacity, kindness, and compassion touched everyone he met. He loved fiercely, and his authentic spirit will be remembered by all who knew him.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to Kerry’s healthcare providers at Duke, especially Dr. John Haney, Dr. John Reynolds and Sarah Cooper, who played pivotal roles in his care, as well as the compassionate Hospice team at McLeod/Seacoast in Little River, SC.
