Tabor City, NC — Following an emergency meeting at 2:00 p.m. today, the North Carolina State Board of Elections voted unanimously to keep the South Williams precinct in Tabor City will remain open until 8:15 p.m. after morning computer issues delayed voting operations.
Under state law, votes cast at the precinct between 7:30 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. will be processed as provisional ballots, and election results reporting for all of Columbus County will be held until the site closes at 8:15 p.m.
Anyone in line statewide by the standard 7:30 p.m. closing time remains legally entitled to vote.
