RECALL: Horizon Organic Pulls Nearly 54,000 Cases of Shelf‑Stable Chocolate Milk After Reports of Premature Spoilage
Horizon Organic has voluntarily recalled nearly 54,000 cases of its shelf‑stable 1% chocolate milk following consumer reports of bloated cartons, off‑smells, unusual taste, and early spoilage. The company says the issue stems from a packaging seal defect that can cause the milk to deteriorate well before its printed best‑by date.

- Horizon Organic 1% Chocolate Milk
- 8‑oz aseptic cartons
- Sold in 12‑pack (UPC 742365002700) and 18‑pack (UPC 742365208867) formats
