BOLIVIA, NC — The Brunswick County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday, September 8, approving a $35,000 agreement with Martin Starnes & Associates to audit fire fee procedures across the county. The audit will be fully funded by the county and is intended to ensure consistent application of fire fee standards.
Commissioners also postponed discussion on proposed modifications to public hearing and public comment policies, noting that additional review is needed before any changes move forward.
In other business, the board directed staff to draft a legislative goal addressing regulation of burning in unincorporated areas, a step aimed at exploring potential safety and environmental measures.
The next commissioners meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 21 at 6:00 p.m. Replay available at brunswickcountync.gov/agendas
