WHITEVILLE, NC — A 32-year-old man was taken into custody in the early morning hours Saturday by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office after failing to appear in court.
Jeffrey Elton Batten, 32, was booked into the Columbus County Law Enforcement Center at 1:43 a.m. on September 12, 2026.
Deputies processed Batten on outstanding warrants charging him with failure to appear on a misdemeanor. He was placed under separate secured bonds totaling $2,500 ($1,000 and $1,500) following his arrest.
