Whiteville Man Held on $50,000 Bond Following Friday Arrest

WHITEVILLE, NC — A Whiteville resident is awaiting trial after being taken into custody Friday afternoon on outstanding misdemeanor warrants.

Johnny Lee Willis, 32, of West Burkhead Street, was arrested by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office at 12:15 p.m. on Sept. 11. Willis was served with a warrant for Failure to Appear on a Misdemeanor.

He remains in custody at the county jail under a $50,000 secured bond.

All individuals named in this report are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Charges and case statuses may change as investigations and court proceedings continue.
