HOME Program supports homeownership, rental assistance, and affordable housing development projects
HORRY COUNTY, SC — The Horry County HOME Consortium is accepting applications for projects funded through the federal HOME Investment Partnerships Program.
Funding is available to developers, nonprofit organizations, local governments, and Community Housing Development Organizations (CHDOs) for affordable homeownership initiatives, tenant-based rental assistance (TBRA), and affordable rental housing developments.
HOME funds may be used for property acquisition, new construction, rehabilitation, reconstruction, conversion projects, financing costs, and relocation expenses associated with affordable housing. The program also provides rental assistance to help eligible households cover the gap between what they can afford and fair market rent.
Applications for homeownership and TBRA projects are due by 5:00 p.m. on November 19, 2026. Applications for affordable rental development projects will be accepted on a rolling basis until available HOME funding is exhausted or the application period is suspended.
Organizations seeking CHDO certification may also apply if submitting a qualifying project.
Applications, certification materials, and additional information are available through Horry County Community Development
