SHALLOTTE, NC — Camp United Methodist Church will host a Friday Community Meal and Outreach on August 21 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at 4807 Main Street in Shallotte, offering free meals and essential items to local residents.
The adult meal will feature cheesy potatoes with kielbasa, green bean salad, bread, and dessert. A hot dog bag will be available for children.
A Blessing Table will be set up with extra meals, fresh vegetables, eggs, and clothing for anyone who needs additional support. The YMCA Summer Meal for Kids program will also be on-site from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m., providing shelf‑stable breakfasts and lunches.
Organizers say the event is meant to bring neighbors together while meeting practical needs. “We want everyone to know they’re welcome,” said a Camp UMC outreach coordinator. “This is a chance to share a meal, connect with neighbors, and make sure no one goes home hungry.”
Camp United Methodist Church hosts community meals and outreach events regularly, with additional dates expected to be announced in the coming weeks as part of the church’s ongoing efforts to support families across Shallotte.
