Columbus County Man Arrested on Methamphetamine Charges Following Late-Night Booking

Whiteville NC – A local resident found himself behind bars late Monday evening following a narcotics investigation by the county sheriff’s department.

Jonathan Wesley Jones, 38, was taken into custody by the North Carolina Columbus County Sheriff’s Office on August 31, 2026, at 10:47 PM. Booking records logged Jones under ID 97610 at the detention facility.

Law enforcement lodged serious drug-related counts against him, stemming from the late-night arrest. His official charges include:

  • Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell, or Deliver Methamphetamine (PWINMSD): A felony offense addressing the alleged distribution or production of the controlled substance.
