ELIZABETHTOWN, NC — The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office says its Emergency Response Team, working alongside the Elizabethtown Police Department, carried out two search warrants on Friday, September 11, as part of separate narcotics investigations involving suspected drug sales in and around Bladen County.
Sheriff James A. McVicker said the warrants were the result of ongoing cases in which investigators identified individuals believed to be distributing controlled substances to multiple people in the community.
Eric Mitchell, 35, Elizabethtown
Deputies say Eric Mitchell was arrested and charged with multiple Schedule II drug offenses, maintaining a dwelling for drug activity, and possession of paraphernalia. Mitchell was transported to the Bladen County Detention Center, where a judicial official set his bond at $125,000.
Charges include: • Arrest warrant for possession with intent to sell/deliver Schedule II controlled substance • Possession with intent to sell/deliver Schedule II controlled substance • Felony possession of Schedule II controlled substance (two counts) • Maintaining a dwelling for keeping or selling controlled substances (felony) • Possession of drug paraphernalia
Javonda Shanai Rogers, 33, Elizabethtown
Rogers was also taken into custody following the search warrant operations. She was transported to the Bladen County Detention Center and received a $50,000 bond set by a judicial official.
Charges include: • Possession with intent to sell/deliver Schedule II controlled substance • Felony possession of Schedule II controlled substance (two counts) • Maintaining a dwelling for keeping or selling controlled substances (felony) • Possession of drug paraphernalia
Omar Jermaine Mathis, 36, Elizabethtown
Mathis was charged in connection with both Schedule II and Schedule VI controlled substances. He was transported to the Bladen County Detention Center and received an unsecured bond.
Charges include: • Possession with intent to sell/deliver Schedule II controlled substance • Possession with intent to sell/deliver Schedule VI controlled substance • Maintaining a dwelling for keeping or selling controlled substances (felony)
The Sheriff’s Office emphasized that bond amounts are determined by judicial officials under North Carolina General Statute 15A‑532 and not by deputies or the agency itself. Officials also reiterated their commitment to targeting drug activity throughout Bladen County and encouraged residents to report information related to illegal narcotics distribution.
