MURRELLS INLET, SC — A person was found dead Wednesday morning during a law enforcement operation in The Pines at St. James neighborhood, according to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
Authorities said SLED, the FBI and Horry County Police were attempting to serve arrest and search warrants at a residence when the individual did not comply with requests to exit the home. The person was later found deceased inside.
St. James High School increased security measures as a precaution because of the nearby police activity. The death remains under investigation by Horry County Police
