WHITEVILLE, NC — A 35-year-old man was arrested Sunday evening after law enforcement discovered him present at the Columbus County Fairgrounds in violation of state sex offender registry laws.
Augusta Sharee Huggins, of 284 Fruit Ridge Road, Whiteville, was taken into custody by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office at 7:46 PM on October 18, following an incident response at the fairgrounds located at 886 Prison Camp Road.
Huggins is charged with felony sex offender unlawfully on child premises. He is being held at the Columbus County Detention Center without bond.
All individuals named in this report are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Charges and case statuses may change as investigations and court proceedings continue.
