CONWAY, SC — A nationwide search is underway after a murder suspect cut off his electronic monitoring device and fled home confinement in Horry County.
Kashien Willis, 19, of Conway, is now considered a fugitive. Law enforcement officials say Willis was out on a $30,000 bond while awaiting trial for the 2025 shooting death of 18-year-old Davorious Mack.
- The Escape: Horry County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Willis’ residence within an hour of receiving a GPS tamper alert, finding his severed ankle monitor inside the home.
- New Warrants Issued: Authorities have secured two additional felony warrants for Willis charging him with Escape and Tampering with an Electronic Monitoring Device.
- Bond Revocation: Prosecutors with the 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office have formally filed motions to revoke Willis’ bond status.
- Multi-Agency Search: Local police, county deputies, and federal partners are actively searching the Grand Strand area and surrounding region for his whereabouts.
Willis was facing imminent trial next month on charges including Murder, Armed Robbery, and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime.
The charges stem from a March 2025 fatal shooting along Lucas Bay Road near Conway. Investigators allege Willis killed 18-year-old Davorious Mack during a robbery attempt inside a vehicle following a dispute linked to social media posts.
Authorities advise the public not to approach Willis if spotted. Anyone with information on his location is urged to immediately call 9-1-1
