Conway, SC — Kadyn Philip Mahaffey, 18, remains incarcerated after his arrest by the South Carolina Highway Patrol on multiple traffic and drug-related charges stemming from an incident early November 6.
According to jail records, Mahaffey was booked at 12:48 a.m. and was still being held as of the latest available information.
Authorities charged Mahaffey with failure to stop for a blue light, first offense, a charge commonly filed when a driver allegedly fails to stop for law enforcement. Additional charges include speeding more than 25 mph over the posted speed limit, operating or permitting the operation of an unregistered vehicle, driving without required insurance coverage, violating the restrictions of a classified driver’s license, failing to obey traffic-control devices, and a motorcycle lane-use violation.
Mahaffey was also charged with possession of 28 grams or less of marijuana, listed as a first offense.
Booking records show several of the traffic offenses carried bond amounts, while the failure-to-stop-for-a-blue-light charge was filed under a separate case number. The South Carolina Highway Patrol was listed as the arresting agency.
All charges against Mahaffey are allegations. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
