MYRTLE BEACH, SC — The holiday season will officially begin along the Grand Strand when Myrtle Beach hosts its annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at Plyler Park on Saturday, November 28.
The community event begins at 5:30 p.m. and will feature holiday-themed entertainment, seasonal music and family-friendly activities before the lighting of the city’s 32-foot Christmas tree at 6:30 p.m.
Visitors can enjoy live performances by the Carolina Master Chorale and Carolina Youth Chorale, meet Santa Claus, and take photos with holiday characters throughout the evening. Following the tree lighting, organizers promise a “100% chance of snow,” adding a festive touch to the celebration.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to enjoy approximately 1.2 miles of oceanfront holiday lights while strolling along the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and surrounding area.
The event will be held at Plyler Park, located at 1000 North Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach. Free parking will be available in city-metered parking spaces and at the Pavilion Parking Garage, located at 914 North Kings Highway.
The annual ceremony serves as the city’s official kickoff to the holiday season and is open to residents and visitors alike.
