Ocean Isle Beach, NC — The Ocean Isle Beach Police Department has added two new officers to its ranks, welcoming professionals whose backgrounds and community ties bring both experience and fresh perspective to the coastal agency.
Officer Chase Costa arrives with 13 years of law enforcement experience in West Virginia. He recently relocated to the Brunswick County coast with his wife and two children, and OIBPD leadership says his depth of patrol and public‑safety knowledge will strengthen the department’s ability to serve a growing community.
Officer Charles Jost joins the department after completing Basic Law Enforcement Training, marking a new chapter following his retirement from business ownership. Originally from the Charlotte/Lake Norman region, Jost is a UNC graduate married to his college sweetheart, an NC State alum. The couple shares a son and a long‑standing love for Ocean Isle Beach. Known for his upbeat outlook, Jost often says he “still has some gas left in the tank” as he begins his law enforcement career.
The department says both officers reflect the values central to Ocean Isle Beach: professionalism, community partnership, and a commitment to protecting residents and visitors.
