Six Injured in Two‑Vehicle Collision Near Reaves Ferry Road

Six People Injured Thursday (Nakina Fire & Rescue)

NAKINA, NC — Six people were injured Thursday after Nakina Fire & Rescue and Tabor City Paramedic QRV 21 were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision in the area of Reaves Ferry Road and Old Baggett Road.

Columbus County 911 Communications received the call on September 3 and sent units to the scene, where responders found two vehicles with heavy damage and multiple patients requiring evaluation.

Nakina Fire & Rescue responded with Truck 10, EMS 29, Squad 10, and Chief 10. Tabor City Paramedic QRV 21 also arrived shortly after the initial dispatch. Due to the number of injured individuals, additional resources were requested, including Tabor City Medic 25 and Horry County Fire Rescue Medic 13.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the collision.

Joe’s Wrecker Service removed the vehicles and assisted with clearing the roadway so traffic could safely resume.

Nakina Fire & Rescue expressed appreciation for Columbus County 911 Communications and all partnering agencies whose coordinated efforts supported the response. Officials noted that strong interagency cooperation remains essential to providing timely care during serious incidents.
