Norma Ann Brayboy, 73, peacefully passed away on September 20, 2026, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Hospice House in Wilmington, North Carolina, surrounded by those she loved.
Born August 1, 1953, Norma was the daughter of the late Willie Gaither Patrick and Aggie Mae Patrick. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished sister, and treasured friend whose life was deeply rooted in her Christian faith.
Norma was a devoted member of Mt. Sinai Holiness Church and found great strength and comfort in her relationship with Jesus Christ. She worked at the Waccamaw Siouan Tribal Grounds for more than 15 years. She also enjoyed gardening and reading, but above all, her greatest joy was her family.
Norma will be remembered for her warm and loving heart, her wisdom, kindness, and the guidance she so freely gave to others. Her faith and compassion touched the lives of those around her and will remain a lasting part of her legacy.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Otis Brayboy; her children, Symeon Brayboy and Cydney Brayboy, both of Council, North Carolina; her sisters, Frances Mitchell, Veda Young, and Lynn Kilgore; and her brothers, Winda, Delton, Charlie, Kermit, and Willie Patrick, along with their spouses and many other beloved family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Garland Patrick and Emanuel Patrick, and her sisters, Annie V. Graham, Shirley Davis, Reba Roberson, and Lottie Ruth Jacobs.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday September 25, 2026 at Mt. Sinai Holiness Church with Rev. Michael Jacobs and Rev. Chris Webb officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the Church.
