Columbus County Detention Center Booking Log: October 23 – 26, 2026

WHITEVILLE, NC — The following incidents and arrests were logged by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office, the Whiteville Police Department, the Chadbourn Police Department, and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol between Friday, October 23, and Monday, October 26, 2026.

Friday, Oct. 23

• Clayton Atlas Benton, 51, of 204 W. Calhoun St., Whiteville, was arrested by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office and charged with Attempted Larceny, Second-Degree Trespass, and Assault with a Deadly Weapon. He was held under a $100,000 secured bond.

• Jaquan Wandarias King, 29, of 515 S. Wilks St., Chadbourn, was arrested by the Whiteville Police Department for a Misdemeanor Probation Violation. He was placed under a $25,000 secured bond.

• Reshod Derrill King, 41, of 3128 Bud Stephens Road, Evergreen, was arrested by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office and charged with Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile, Misdemeanor Aid and Abet, and a Parole Violation. He was held under a $1,500 secured bond for delinquency and no bond for the parole violation.

• Amy Alexandra Lackey, 57, of 236 S. Sycamore St., Charlotte, was arrested by the N.C. State Highway Patrol and charged with Driving While Impaired, Expired Registration Card/Tag, Possession of an Open Container of Alcohol in a Passenger Area, and Expired/No Inspection. She was released on a $5,000 secured bond.

• Billy B. Lawson, 44, of 316 W. Buckhead St., Apt. A, Whiteville, was arrested by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office and charged with Misdemeanor Larceny. He was released on a $500 secured bond.

• Aaron Dixon McCumbee, 45, of 405 Jim Jolly Road, Clarendon, was arrested by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office for Driving While License Revoked (Non-Impaired Revocation). He was released on a $500 secured bond.

• Prendaysheya Contisha Reaves, 29, of 103 Four Oaks Dr., Whiteville, was arrested by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office for Resisting a Public Officer. She was released on a $500 secured bond.

Saturday, Oct. 24

• James Gracen Adams, 56, of 143 Larry Ave., Pollocksville, was processed at the detention center on charges of Driving While Impaired and Driving While License Revoked. He was logged as serving a sentence for Carteret County.

• Jace Alexander Chestnut, 19, of 9034 Old Stake Rd., Tabor City, was arrested by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office and charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Resisting a Public Officer. He was released under a $500 secured bond.

• Christion Sayvion Hines, 26, of 303 Felt Circle, Houston, Texas, was arrested by the N.C. State Highway Patrol and charged with Driving While Impaired, Resisting a Public Officer, Failure to Maintain Lane Control, and Failure to Wear a Seat Belt. He was released under a $5,000 secured bond.

• Zachary Elwood Williams, 22, of 3992 Joe Brown Highway North, Whiteville, was arrested by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office and charged with Domestic Criminal Trespass and Resisting a Public Officer. He was held under a $50,000 secured bond.

Sunday, Oct. 25

• Benjamin Lamont Blanks, 55, of 420 S. Martin Luther King Dr., Whiteville, was processed at the detention center as a Weekender serving a sentence.

• Eugene Cromartie III, 58, of 202 Collins St., Chadbourn, was arrested by the Chadbourn Police Department and charged with Communicating Threats. He was held without bond.

• Haley Lacole English, 24, of 865 River Rd., Tabor City, was arrested by the N.C. State Highway Patrol and charged with Driving While Impaired. She was released on a $2,000 secured bond.

• Dewayne Tyler Joseph, 51, of 216 Dosier Rd., Chadbourn, was arrested by the Chadbourn Police Department for Failure to Appear on a Misdemeanor. He was released under a $500 secured bond.

• Thomas Jacob Martin, 21, of 1997 Golf Course Rd., Whiteville, was arrested by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office and charged with two counts of Resisting a Public Officer and one count of Misdemeanor Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance. He was released on a $4,500 secured bond.

• Terrance Keith Rowell, 43, of 322 West 3rd St., Tabor City, was arrested by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office and charged with felony Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, felony Possess with Intent to Sell/Deliver Marijuana, felony Maintaining a Place for Controlled Substances, misdemeanor Assault on a Female, and Misdemeanor Crime of Domestic Violence. He was held without bond.

• Jessica Renee Singletary, 38, of 2719 Macedonia Church Rd., Evergreen, was arrested by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office for Failure to Appear on a Misdemeanor. She was held under a $5,000 secured bond.

• Rebecca Ann Spivey, 41, of 12164 Peacock Rd., Chadbourn, was arrested by the Whiteville Police Department and charged with Second-Degree Trespass and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was released under a $10,000 secured bond.

• Timothy Detron Stephens, 44, of 24305 Peacock Rd., Tabor City, was arrested by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office and charged with Assault on a Female and Misdemeanor Crime of Domestic Violence. He was held without bond.

• Jonathan Andrew Walker, 33, of 548 Legion Dr., Whiteville, was arrested by the Whiteville Police Department and charged with Assault on a Female and Misdemeanor Crime of Domestic Violence. He was held without bond.
