TABOR CITY, N.C. — A Tabor City man faces serious felony charges following a domestic incident over the weekend in which a woman was allegedly forced from her home at knifepoint.
Daniel Lee Harris, 34, was arrested Sept. 5 after deputies responded to a distress situation. Investigators report Harris forced entry into the home of a woman with whom he had a prior relationship. He allegedly brandished a kitchen knife taken from her home, forced her into a vehicle, and transported her to another location against her will while making threats.
According to court documents, Harris called emergency dispatchers multiple times during the encounter claiming individuals were trying to kill him, despite being alone.
Harris was booked into the Columbus County Detention Center under no bond. He faces charges of second-degree kidnapping, felonious restraint, misdemeanor domestic violence, larceny after break and enter, and misuse of the 911 system.
All individuals named in this report are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Charges and case statuses may change as investigations and court proceedings continue.
