BRUNSWICK, NC — The Town of Brunswick remains under a Boil Water Advisory as crews continue work on long‑planned upgrades to the municipal water system, including installation of a new water tower and additional fire hydrants.
Town officials said water service was temporarily shut off for roughly two hours earlier today in parts of Brunswick while crews installed hydrants. As construction continues, residents may see additional short-term interruptions to service.
The town is asking all customers to continue following the Boil Water Advisory until further notice. Officials said the advisory is being kept in place out of an abundance of caution to ensure water safety during the ongoing infrastructure work.
Leaders acknowledged the inconvenience the temporary outages may cause but emphasized that the improvements are necessary to strengthen the system, improve reliability, and support long-term growth.
“These upgrades are being made to provide a safer and better water system for our community,” the town said in its announcement, thanking residents for their patience and cooperation.
The advisory will remain in effect until the Town of Brunswick issues an update lifting it.
