MYRTLE BEACH, SC — A 19‑year‑old man is facing a series of misdemeanor drug, alcohol, and traffic charges after an early‑morning stop along Highway 501, according to citation and arrest records filed Friday.
Alexander Luis Turner, a white male from the Myrtle Beach area, was arrested at approximately 2:51 a.m. on September 11 in the 2400 block of Highway 501 near the northbound entrance to U.S. Highway 17. Officers documented the case at the same time the arrest was logged.
Records show Turner is charged with possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, first offense; DUI less than .10, first offense; open container of beer or wine in a motor vehicle; minor in possession of beer or wine; driving on the wrong side of the road or improper lane use; speeding more than 25 miles per hour over the posted limit; unlawful use of a license or fraudulent application; and failure to maintain proof of insurance. All listed charges are misdemeanors.
Following the arrest, multiple citations were issued at 2489 Highway 501. Those citations include speeding more than 25 mph over the limit, open container, minor beer and wine possession, improper lane use, marijuana possession under 28 grams, unlawful use of a license, failure to maintain insurance, and DUI less than .10. The DUI citation was logged at 3:11 a.m.
