SHALLOTTE, NC — Transportation crews will convert a busy Brunswick County intersection into an all‑way stop next week as part of a targeted safety upgrade.

Contract crews are scheduled to install stop signs, flashing beacons and fresh pavement markings on September 21 at the intersection of NC 179 and Bricklanding Road.

The work is weather‑dependent and may be rescheduled if conditions require.

State transportation officials say all‑way stops are a proven, cost‑effective tool for reducing the likelihood of serious crashes and improving overall intersection safety.

Drivers traveling through the area should slow down, remain alert and be prepared for changing traffic patterns while the improvements are underway.
