Elaine S. Pigott, 79, of Shallotte, North Carolina, passed away on September 9, 2026. Born on October 22, 1946, in New Hanover County, Elaine was the daughter of the late Horace Lee Stanley and Essie Mae Clemmons Stanley.
Elaine will be remembered with deep respect for a life marked by devotion and steady faith. For many years, she was a faithful member of Jennies Branch Baptist Church, where her compassionate spirit and selfless care for others were evident in the way she lived and served. Her desire to encourage and uplift those around her shone through in her willingness to share the gospel—personally, and through music—alongside the gospel group, The Believers.
Professionally, Elaine worked as a beautician for more than twenty years, bringing warmth and kindness to the everyday moments she shared with those in her care. She also performed wedding ceremonies at the Isles on Ocean Isle Beach, offering couples a meaningful beginning rooted in sincerity and reverence. In all settings, Elaine’s presence carried an inspiring grace, and she was known for seeing the good in everyone she knew.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Jimmy Pigott of the home; a son, Paul Pigott (Marnie) of Ocean Isle Beach; two daughters, April Babson (Joey) of Shallotte and Jessica Canady (Richard) of Shallotte; grandchildren, Austin Babson, Olivia Nikolov, Chad Babson, Kayla Canady, Mada’Lee Canady, Arielle Schneider, Madeline Pigott and Emalee Hooks; great grandchildren, Nadia Nikolov, Knox Nikolov, Leo Schneider, Thomas Schneider, Grayson Hooks and Avalee Babson; two brothers, Calvin Stanley (Elaine) of Shallotte, Craig Stanley (Karen) of Shallotte; two sisters, Peggy Russ (Alan) of Ocean Isle Beach and Sherry Stanley (Michael Garner) of Shallotte.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday September 16, 2026 at three o’clock in the afternoon at Jennies Branch Baptist Church. Inurnment will follow in the Jennies Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
