Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle on Private Property; Horry County

A pedestrian died Wednesday evening in Horry County after being struck by a vehicle the crash happened at 9:59 p.m. at 744 Cedar Branch Road, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Investigators report that a Nissan Rogue was backing up when it hit a pedestrian who was walking behind the vehicle. After the impact, the Rogue continued moving and struck a nearby building.

The pedestrian was taken from the scene by EMS and later died at the hospital from their injuries.

The collision remains under investigation.
