Violet Pearl Duncan “Phyllis” Sawyer, age 81, of Loris, died Wednesday, September 16, 2026. Born January 12, 1945, in Columbus County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Will Duncan and Stella Watts Duncan.
She is survived by two sons, Roy Linwood Buffkin (Christle) of Green Sea, SC and Burroughs Charles Sawyer III (Maggie) of Andrews, SC, seven grandchildren, Brittany Todd (Donovan), Stephanie Buffkin (Dusty), Little Roy Buffkin (Amanda), Collin Sawyer, Ethan Sawyer, Amanda Hardee (Jay) and Joey Hardee, two special nieces, Ruby Shaw and Kathy Strickland and ten great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Ann Hardee, eleven sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 20, 2026, at 3:00PM in Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
