The City of Southport will host a drop‑in community meeting on Tuesday, September 2, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Southport Community Building, 223 East Bay Street.
Residents, business owners, property owners, and visitors are invited to share feedback that will guide the city’s Community Resilience Project Portfolio, funded through the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ).
The session aims to:
- Gather local insight on flooding, storm impacts, and coastal hazards
- Discuss current and future challenges facing Southport
- Identify and refine project ideas to reduce coastal risk and vulnerability
- Help prioritize resilience investments for a safer, stronger future
